In this stage of m professional development I focus on strengthening artistic research and curatorial skills in order to establish a sufficient position in this area to be able to transfer important topics and gained knowledge through public art exhibition projects, artistic publications and curated programs.
Tom Price is an artist, with whom I have met during my internship in 2023, which was focus on developing my curatorial skills. I have chosen this artist after a deep study of his work and his approach to life, to create a curatorial concept and an exhibition project plan for showing his art, which we plan to offer to institutions within Europe for the realization.
Tom Price is an internationally renowned artist, well-received also in the USA, Asia and Great Britain He lives and creates locally in his studio in Mallorca, and as he has excepted my offer to become partners for this project, it gives a very important opportunity to me, crucial for my professional growth in curating, getting chance to establish better position for future cooperations as a independent curator / cultural professional in this field.
"The time we were able to spend together was invaluable and enabled us to explore, discuss and investigate the ideas, concepts and practicalities of our collaboration in a way that would have been impossible were she not here in person. Being able to meet regularly and spontaneously allowed us to work in a much more fluid and dynamic way than would have been possible had we only been able to communicate remotely.
I provided to Zuzana first hand practical knowledge and experience of how my works are made and where I source my materials. She was able to participate in the fabrication of several pieces, which I think gave her a much deeper insight into my practice and working methodologies. Furthermore having unlimited access to my studio and library meant that Zuzana was able to discover many publications and articles on my work and collaborations internationally which mostly only exist in my personal archives and are not available online.
Overall it was an incredibly valuable experience and one that has enriched our collaborative project with a much more profound insight and mutual understanding. I am absolutely convinced that the exhibition - when it materialises - will be far more successful as a result of this grant which enabled us to spend so much time exploring and learning from each other face to face."
